"Famous Fritz", located in Creston, BC specializes in European sausages and deli meats.  While sausage and deli meats will never make the cut as "health food", Famous Fritz may have found a way to help make them a little healthier.  I will never advise anyone that processed meats, of any kind, be a staple in your diet but, as an occasional indulgence, I'm sure your nutritionist won't faint.

Depending on where you call home, these new products might be a good excuse for a road trip.  Creston is just over the US-Canadian border; a few miles north of Porthill, Idaho or about a three-hour drive north from Spokane, Washington.  According to the press release, in addition to being gluten free, the 11 new deli products feature a ground breaking formula which serves to enrich the meats naturally with Omega 3 Fatty Acids and reduce the cholesterol level up to 50%.
